Red peony / Tongmu waishan Mudan hong

This red tea originated on a mountain near the Tongmuguan tea locality in Fujian Province. It is inaccessible to foreigners due to the military base that is not located in this locality. Therefore, this tea was brought to us from a beautiful tea house in Fuzhou. Its exceptional aroma cannot be mistaken for any other tea, it is a mixture of roasted nuts, butter, and the first flowers of spring, perhaps lilies of the valley or tulips. The infusion is clear and the taste is subtle, sweetish with a lovely floral aftertaste. It is not too intense like other red teas, for example from Yunnan.
