Baiya Qilan — White-Toothed Beautiful Orchid — is a distinctive tea variety of southern Fujian province, processed by rolling the leaves into small, tight balls that slowly unfurl in the cup like a quiet awakening.
This particular tea has gone through a two-stage roasting process: first in an electric oven — the ti-xiang (提香) technique — to lift and enhance the fragrance, and then over charcoal to seal and deepen the aroma within the leaves themselves. The result is a tea of layered complexity, where the roasting has not overpowered the natural character but rather refined and concentrated it.
It is, simply put, an excellent tea — and one that rewards a moment of attention.
This tea has won a golden medal in Tea Expo in Peking in 2025.
Baiya Qilan – Bielozubá krásna orchidea – je charakteristická odroda čaju z južnej provincie Fujian, ktorá sa spracováva zrolovaním lístkov do malých, pevných guľôčok, ktoré sa v šálke pomaly rozvíjajú ako tiché prebudenie. Tento konkrétny čaj prešiel dvojstupňovým procesom praženia: najprv v elektrickej peci – technikou ti-xiang (提香) – aby sa zvýraznila vôňa, a potom na drevenom uhlí, aby sa aróma uzavrela a prehĺbila v samotných listoch. Výsledkom je čaj s viacvrstvovou komplexnosťou, kde praženie neprebíja prirodzený charakter, ale skôr ho zjemňuje a koncentruje.
Jednoducho povedané, je to vynikajúci čaj – a taký, ktorý odmeňuje chvíľku pozornosti.
Tento čaj vyhral zlatú medajlu na Tea Expo v Pekingu 2025.
